We recorded amongst the crickets at Kirk and Jon's new place. This week, Kirk found a bunch of weird music software from Russia, including some that lets you draw music. Great questions came up for us while we played around with it. We discuss familiar versus alien sounds and discovered that Rebecca doesn't like aliens. We consider the difference between composing on paper, on screen, and live with instruments. We consider whether software democratizes music. Rebecca makes her first electronic beat using PixiTracker.
We were joined this week by Ariel Root Wolpe, one of our longtime collaborators.
